We web designers love Tools. We need them to run our businesses and we are always on the lookout for what’s new, helpful, reasonably priced and not overused.

This list may not be Best Ever, but who cares, if you find one nugget of useful, then I consider this post a success.

Let me share with you my highlights from this list:

  • Gratisography – many photos I have never seen before.  When I first began exploring the collection Monica Higgins came to mind, think colorful and quirky.
  • The Noun Project – phew, an alternative to Iconfiner.com.  I had heard of the Non Project, but never bothered to investigate.  Well worth your time.  Lots of interesting icon collections (I found everything from bikini’s to blenders to yoga to camping).
  • Colors – my favorite has been and still is Coolors.co.  I am so in love with that site, I am not sure I need another tool.  One that you may not know about is Tiny.com.  If you find an image you like and want to learn more about it, where it is on the web (maybe you found the image and it’s small and want a larger size).  Put the url into Tineye and it will show you all the places that image can be found on the web.  This is also helpful if you are trying to figure out if an image is free use or premium.

I would love it if you shared your favorites, or what you consider BEST, either from this list or your own research.
